Happy Monday everyone! I recently spent 4 days on a Las Vegas trip and BOY was it a treat. I can’t wait to tell you all about it!
Las Vegas is one of my favorite places to vacation. It is exciting, and chock full of things to do, see, and experience. I truly believe that in the city of “lost wages” there is something for everyone!
My Las Vegas Trip:
Staying At The Wynn Hotel
I have been to Las Vegas 3 times before; once with my family when I was 14, and then 2 times with Dan. So this time (for our third trip) we stayed at the Wynn, as we have always loved it and dreamed about staying there. While it is a little bit farther down “the strip” of hotels, I like it because it isn’t as crowded as some of the other places we visited. For instance, the Mirage, Bellagio, and Ceasars Palace are all smack in the middle of the action and get a lot more traffic.
The Wynn is really close to its’ sister hotel, the Encore, which has the most beautiful spa I have ever been to. As soon as we got to town, we had our Uber take us to In-n-Out Burger (an absolute must), and then we headed straight for the Encore spa for a bit of relaxation. I used the steam and sauna for a bit, had a 50 minute massage followed by a pedicure and it was the greatest 3 hours of my life.
Eating In Las Vegas
I love food, so I wouldn’t pass up an opportunity to get in a nice meal in Las Vegas. There are food courts where you can grab a quick lunch, but don’t expect it to be cheap. I tried to stay on track with my healthy eating while traveling, but alas, I’m always more relaxed on vacation.
Prime Steakhouse
After the spa on Thursday, we ate at a steakhouse in the Bellagio called Prime. Dan took me there when we had just graduated from college, and this was our first time back. We sat on the patio with a view of the beautiful Bellagio fountains that dance to music every 15 minutes! That’s where the seafood tower above is from.
The Wynn Buffet
If you haven’t been to a Las Vegas all you can eat buffet, then you absolutely need to experience it at least once. Our hotel stay got us 2 complimentary tickets to the Wynn buffet, which was such a spectacle! They have pretty much every cuisine you could ask for: sushi, salad, southern food, a raw bar, and a whole dessert area, just to name a few categories. The buffet costs $50 per person, so I highly suggest going hungry.
Mesa Grill
Our third nice meal was at a Bobby Flay restaurant called Mesa. Our friends who traveled with us, Dani and David, suggested the restaurant! I got the spice-rubbed salmon with mole sauce, and a prickly pair margarita. Both were absolutely delicious and I basically had to roll myself out of the restaurant.
Fun And Entertainment
Like I said, there is something for everyone’s taste in Las Vegas. I don’t like gambling, but I still manage to have an amazing Las Vegas trip. You can go to a world class spa, see a show, dine like a king, shop, listen to music, head to a dance club, and enjoy all of the gorgeously-decorated hotel lobbies and casinos. You can’t do everything, though, or you’ll feel pulled too thin. So pick a couple of things for your must-do list.
The Wynn Pool
We purposely picked a hotel with a nice pool so that we could enjoy cooling off in the 112 degree July weather. The Wynn also has an “adults only” pool, which has its pros and cons. The pros were that we didn’t have to worry about getting splashed by any kids playing in the other pools. The con was that it was “tops optional” so we weren’t allowed to take any pictures in that area.
The Little White Wedding Chapel
Since Dani and David got married in Las Vegas 5 years ago, they wanted to renew their vows at a cheesy wedding chapel. They chose the pink Cadillac wedding, and invited Dan and I to come and witness! They sat in a perfect pink Cadillac as the minister did the ceremony. It was SUPER fun and fabulous and totally suited their personalities. Elvis was busy inside marrying another couple.
Calvin Harris at The Omnia
Before we arrived in Las Vegas, Dani and I checked the club schedules to see if any DJs we love were playing. We discovered that Calvin Harris was playing at the Omnia at Ceasar’s Palace on Friday, and opted to buy tickets ahead of time. We splurged a little to get tickets that would let us skip the line, and it was SOOO worth it! Calvin Harris didn’t go on until 1:30 am, which was insane. But he was so charismatic and really knew how to work the crowd, even when everyone was tired. I managed to sneak up and get a semi decent (but mostly crappy) photo of him!
Encore Beach Club
Our final activity was a pool party at the Encore Beach Club. They had music, drinks, and a celebrity DJ named Dillon Francis. The people watching at these thing is priceless.
Shopping
One of my favorite parts of a Las Vegas trip is simply walking around and seeing all the shops. The people watching is great, and the hotels are like museums. Even if you don’t buy anything, you can still window shop and get free inspiration! The Shops at Caesars Palace are unmatched, and the Palazzo has a beautiful selection. We may or may not have done some damage at the Gucci store.
I’d say this recent Las Vegas trip was a success! I would definitely stay at the Wynn again, because it is so close to my favorite spa, the vibe is more low-key, the pool is perfect, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable (hello double sinks!)
I have a Las Vegas outfit roundup post coming soon, so stay tuned!
Have you been to Vegas? Let me know in the comments where you stayed and what you did!

On Mondays We Link Up
My favorite look from last week’s linkup is Karen from Lady in Violet!
Karen’s wedding guest look is perfectly chic! I went to my best friend’s wedding this past weekend and saw too many guests in horrible outfits (I’m talking beautiful dresses paired with foam flip flops). So Karen’s elegant look absolutely inspires me and is what the perfect wedding guest should look like! Go Karen!
