Le Tote Is Totes Amazing & On Mondays We Link Up (#56)

By now most of us have tried at least one clothing subscription box, whether it is Stitch Fix, Le Tote, Trunk Club, Dia & Co…the list goes on. I’ve tried a handful myself, but never stuck with one as long as I’ve been using Le Tote.

What is Le Tote?

Le Tote is a clothing subscription where you get a set amount of clothing and/or accessories per month. Keep what you want, send back what you don’t. The plan I have lets me choose 5 clothing items and 3 accessories for $79/month.

You’ve probably seen pieces from my recent Le Tote sprinkled throughout the blog recently (see here, here, here (those culottes!) and here). And if you’ve been following this blog for awhile, I wrote a Le Tote review this past summer. I’ve kept it going until now for some, and I’m writing another love affair review because I think this subscription deserves it.

So here are so basic, and not so basic reasons why I love Le Tote.

Why Le Tote?

  • I like being able to take fashion risks without having to feel like I’m committing to them 100%. Case in point: This floral moto jacket. When I saw it on the Le Tote Website, I figured why not. I’ll try it and send it back if I don’t like it. Turns out I love it and I should trust my fashion gut.
  • There are no surprises. I’m kind of a control freak and I like to know what I’m in for Your Le Tote is styled for you, but you get 48 hours to swap out clothing and accessories that you want to try. I almost always swap everything.
  • It is all inclusive, both in size and style. Whether you work in a conservative office or you’re a stay at home mom, there is something for you. They even have activewear to workwear to vacation style.
  • They have great brands that you’ve heard about before. Think Nike, French Connection, Calvin Klein, Eliza J, and Free People.

Le Tote: a few cons:

  • I’m rarely motivated to keep anything. The business model makes me want to swap in and out clothing as if I have a virtual closet. I guess that’s not really a con.
  • It is a bit pricey, especially because the Le Tote price isn’t factored into your purchase like in some other clothing subscriptions. But you can get your first tote free by signing up through this link.
  • They don’t have petites yet.
  • The handbag selection isn’t anything fancy.
  • I wish they had shoes, but I’m not sure how that would work logistically.

Have you tried Le Tote, or are you really into a different subscription? Let me know!

–Roxanne

Thank you so much for linking up last week! I had an overwhelming amount of comments and love on last week’s look. Your support makes me so happy to be a part of this blogging community. Thank you!

My favorite look from last week is Nicole from What Nicole Wore!

Nicole’s affordable derby outfit stole my heart. I mean – it is pink and burgundy so if that doesn’t do it for ya, I don’t know what does! I really admire Nicole’s commitment to affordable style – her stunning dress and fascinator are both under $50, and her cute sandals are under $30!

Although it isn’t an outfit, I REALLY enjoyed Jodie’s side by side (literally) comparison of two long wearing lipsticks! Definitely check it out, especially if you are thinking of purchasing Lipsense.

  4. I haven’t tried Le Tote, just Stitch Fix… but, now you have me wanting to try something new. I just love the color of your top and the ruffles. That jacket is EVERYTHING! The lining on your denim is super cute as well!

Thanks so much Carrie! I haven’t tried stitch fix in YEARS so maybe it is time to try them out again! I heard they really stepped up their game!

  5. Loving your jacket and your bag. And your hair too! How do you keep it so shiny?

I love that floral Jacket print and those jeans fit you so well!

  10. Laura says:

I’ve tried Le Tote before and it was great! I always felt like I was wearing something new and I didn’t feel like I wanted to buy as much. It just got pricey month after month. Love that floral moto jacket from them though!

  11. Hi Roxanne
I never tried a subscripion service, except Natalie Attired, which was for the blog. I understand the appeal, but find that the clothing is more expensive than if i look and search myself. I love your jacket, so fun and springy and your jeans look great on you. I still have and love flares! What a darling straw bag too.. I have a clutch but would love a little bag in a different shape. You look lovely!

    • Roxanne says:

I definitely get what you mean. I have to check out Natalie Attired!

The thing is (and I should have mentioned it) sometimes I don’t even know what I want to try until it comes to my door and I’m forced to try it, ya know? Otherwise I end up with 800 of the same style of floral dress in my closet that I always gravitate towards. I would have never known that, perhaps, a different cut or style or brand worked for me. Anyhow, I do think it is a little pricey!

  12. Love the jacket on you! and yes! Trust your gut. I guess I’m in the minority, I’ve yet to try a subscription. I keep thinking I’m going to and just somehow never get around to it. These colors are great on you!

    • Roxanne says:

Thanks, Lisa! As funny as it may sound, I sometimes second guess my “fashion gut” because I wonder if others will like it, too. Or I’ll get something that all the Instagrammers are wearing when I know deep down it won’t work for me. For instance, I’ll see a really tall slender woman wearing a super flowy dress, and even though I KNOW those look like trash bags on me (I’m short and athletic) I will still blindingly try it, then having to surrender and return it after all. Most of the time I’m happy with my choices, though.

  13. Jennie says:

Wow – this floral moto jacket is everything! I enjoyed learning more about this particular service, so thanks for sharing!

  14. Sheela Goh says:

I actually cancelled my Le Tote subscription almost a year ago. Like you, Roxanne, I didn’t feel compelled to keep anything at all, throughout my time with them, because the selection was really limited. But now that I’m looking at this gorgeous moto jacket of yours, I am sorely tempted to reactivate it LOL my personal faves are Stitch Fix and Daily Look because they’re so different, both in terms of style offerings as well as price points 🙂 xoxo

    p/s you look amazing, incidentally!!!

    • Roxanne says:

Ah I need to check out Daily Look. They used to have such good jewelry, but I haven’t checked them out in years. I think that I’m going to keep this moto jacket, though! Thank you so much, Sheela!

  15. Thanks for hosting the party. Great bag.

  16. I am so in love with this look! So my style!

I haven’t tried Le Tote, although I am surprised at how much I do love subscription boxes. They are like Christmas every time you get one (or Hanukkah…haha)

Such a cute outfit! I love the bag, top, and floral jacket. Is the $79 a month a service fee?

  21. what a pretty floral and so very versatile. I have not opted in to any of the subscription boxes yet. I still like browsing for my own fashions I think. Love your choices though. Don’t forget to link up every thursday to A Labour of Fashion

It is nice to discover different cuts, fits, and styles that I wouldn’t try otherwise! But it is all about your lifestyle and preference! I will definitely link up!

That’s a gorgeous leather jacket! So fun! I love the floral print and the color on it. Great choice! I haven’t done any clothing subscriptions but it sounds like Le Tote is a nice option to the other ones I have heard of. I like the pros and cons you did too so it’s easier to see what you really will get out of it. I hope you are having a great day so far and wishing you a great week ahead!

  24. I do like your jeans – I am not a jeans person but I could make an exception with yours!
