Weekly Refreshment: Japanese Skincare Secrets with DHC

Have you tried any Korean or Japanese skin care products? I heard all about them but never tried it because I was totally happy with my routine. When I was gifted some DHC products to try, the mesh foaming net totally piqued my interest.

Lifestyle Blogger Roxanne of Glass of Glam's review of the DHC skincare japanese mesh net

DHC stands for “Daigaku Honyaku Center,” which is Japanese for something I’m sure. The company began as an educational translation company when the owner discovered Spanish Olive oil and the skincare benefits. He saw the potential for growth and DHC is now one of Japan’s top skincare companies.

So DHC has a whole cleansing ritual, which includes a cleansing oil and a foaming face net. The foaming net creates more foam than your hands, and allows you to use less cleanser. I’m a huge fan of that, because I like pricey skincare and I want it to go a long way.

Using the fluffy bubbles to wash your face is supposed to be better for your skin, too. I’m not sure exactly why, but I think it is because the foam is less harsh than slapping the fully concentrated cleanser on your face. The Japanese are onto something!

Here is a quick video of how to use it (this is the first time I’ve taken a video and posted it, so please bear with me as I learn!)

For the video I used the face wash powder just to demonstrate the bubble effect. But you can use whatever cleanser you have. It’s super easy! I hang mine in the shower so I remember to use it. That way it can hang and dry out when I’m not using it.

I’m excited about the cleansing oil, too. When I wash my face, I use cleansing oil to melt off my makeup, then I follow with a water-based cleanser. I tried the DHC serum and moisturizer, and they work really well, too. I love the pretty ombre packaging, although that has absolutely nothing to do with the product’s effectiveness!

The mesh is only $2.50, and you can find a lot of their products on Amazon (for my prime-addicted friends.)

I am obsessed with Korean beauty products and I’m sure the Japanese ones are great too! I love that you commented on the look of the bottles because, well, I like having pretty bottles in my bathroom! I always thing, if a brand can’t get the bottles correct, how much do I trust the product inside? Great post, Roxanne! xx Rox-Anne, Celebratingthislife.ca
