It’s been awhile since I posted a beauty review! In case you’re new here (or simply forgot) I’m an avid skincare enthusiast. I truly believe that enhancing our natural beauty by taking care of our skin is the easiest way to confidence.  Which is why I’m so excited to talk about Romer skincare today!

Romer Skincare Review

I’m always trying new skincare products and only choose my favorites to write and post about. If I wrote about every product someone sent me, I’d probably go crazy, haha. A friend in Chicago connected me with the owner of the Chicago-based, clean skincare brand called Romer. She explained that it is an easy, three step routine designed for both men and women. Romer takes the clutter out of your bathroom, and streamlines your skincare with clean and effective ingredients. Users (both male and female) boasted clearer, less-stressed, hydrated, and overall more radiant skin.

After talking with her via video chat, I was immediately hooked by her enthusiasm for her products. But could such a simple, 3 step regimen be all it was cracked up to be? Can skincare really be distilled down to a cleanser, a moisturizer, and and a treatment? I admit that I was a skeptic.

I gave the unique 3 part skincare regimen a go, and was so pleasantly surprised.

Cleanse

Romer describes the first step of the routine as a nourishing gel-oil cleanser that gently removes impurities without stripping the skin. I was pleased to see manuka honey, calendula, caffeine coffee extract, and tea tree oil as the main ingredients. Manuka honey is hydrating, calendula is extremely calming for redness, and tea tree is effective for keeping breakouts at bay. Check, check, and check!

Well guys, I loved this cleanser so much that now I only have a few drops left. Romer’s cleanser does a great job of removing all my sunscreen and mascara (pretty much all I’ve been wearing these days) without making my skin feel like it is all dried out and stripped of its natural oils.

Moisturize

A lightweight daily moisturizer for day to night use that instantly hydrates and energizes dull, tired, dehydrated skin. There are moisturizers for ultra dehydrated skin, moisturizers for sun protection, and moisturizers for age rewinding. But rarely do you see an every day moisturizer that is designed to streamline your routine. Normally, I put a drop of about 4-5 serums in my hand, mix them together, and rub them into my face. But Romer’s moisturizer already has the ingredients that I seek out in those serums. Hyaluronic Acid hyper-hydrates, antioxidants protect against pollutants and free radicals, and calming ingredients minimize breakouts.

This moisturizer soaks into my skin really quickly and doesn’t make me feel greasy at all! It’s great for daytime and the little bottle travels well.

Treat

A day and night treatment that melts into skin to deeply hydrate and simultaneously soothe dull, dehydrated or irritation prone skin. I have to say right off the bat that this treatment smells like you walked into a forest of delicious-smelling evergreen trees. Oh and there’s a natural spring nearby. The fountain of youth!

Since I’m a skincare ingredient nerd and so are you guys, here are the main ingredients: Niacinamide and Bakuchiol (smoothing and exfoliating), Squalane and Hyaluronic Acid (hydrating), Prickly Pear Seed Oil and CBD (calming and softening). This is basically an all-star lineup of ingredients. I have separate bottles of each of these ingredients, however, Romer managed to combine them into one yummy treatment. When I feel really dry and my skin needs a boost, I put a thin layer of the treatment on before bed and wash it off in the morning. You could also use it as a 5 minute mask, but I like to give it time to really soak in. Plus the smell is amazing and helps me wind down!

I definitely recommend Romer’s 3 step skincare regimen if you are:

• looking to simplify your skincare routine;
• want to switch to clean skincare;
• want to support a company that cares about the environment;
• perhaps you have a teenager who needs to start some good skincare habits!
• You want your significant other to use skincare but they can’t be bothered with any complicated steps.
• you’re sick of your cluttered sink.
