My bff Jessi told me that she has seen people wearing field jackets everywhere. And so have I! They are perfectly casual and flattering because of the fitted style and cinched waist. They are ideal for travel, because you can layer a sweater underneath and pair with a scarf when you are not sure what the weather will be like. Or just tie it around your waist when you don’t need it, because it is so lightweight.
To help you (and Jessi) out, I rounded up some field jackets that I approve of, at various price points. Most of them come in a military green color, but some come in white, lavender, navy…and other unexpected colors. Scroll through the slideshow for more info!
Weekly Refreshment: The Field Jacket
JustFab Hooded Parka Jacket. This one is $52 if you are not a JustFab VIP, but only $43 if you are a VIP. It also comes in olive and white, and I really like that it has a hood.
B.P. Cotton Field Jacket. I like ordering from Nordstrom because their return policy is so great. And always free shipping! This jacket is $64.
L.L. Bean Lined Field Jacket. The fleece lining is key on this piece. It comes in lavender, olive, gray, and white. The petite size also comes in a pinkish peach and navy.
JCrew Downton Field Jacket. I sound like a broken record when it comes to this jacket. This is the one I own (last seen here and here.) It is my absolute favorite. Even though it is $148, I have definitely gotten my money's worth. I took it to Italy on our honeymoon and it was perfectly stylish. It also comes in black and white, and the petite also comes in burgundy.
Old Navy Linen Blend Field Jacket. You know I love me some Old Navy. The only thing I don't like about this one is the color is called "crocodile tears" and I don't like when animals are sad (unless of course the croc is crying in laughter.) Otherwise, this one is perfect.
