New York Fashion Week. Where do I start!? It has always been a dream of mine to just be in the presence of those attending fashion week in New York City. So instead of sitting at home, reading vogue, and dreaming about it, Dani and I actually DID IT.
A tropical vacation is always an absolute dream. I love looking out at the Caribbean (or whatever body of water I am near) and losing myself in the waves. A little sunshine, rest, and soaking up island vibes always puts me in a splendid mood.
Dan and I went on a four day Caribbean cruise between Christmas and New Years. We decided to go with the Celebrity Silhouette, since we know it is reputable, and the price was right.
I know I already went on my cruise, but I thought I would share some of the things I packed. Because it’s always fun and helpful to see what people take on vacation.
Vacation packing is like a life-capsule. I get to take just my favorite seasonal pieces and maybe a few extra goodies.
HIGH WAISTED SWIM SUIT | HOURGLASS PALETTE | ROLLERBALL | FLORAL MAXI DRESS | BOOK | BRACELET | BIRKENSTOCK SANDALS | SUNSCREEN | LIGHT PINK DRESS | SUNNIES | LACE UP SANDALS | WATER BOTTLE | TASSEL EARRINGS | STRAW BAG | BELL SLEEVED SHIFT | PANAMA HAT | DENIM SHORTS
I never thought that when I moved to D.C. I would have the opportunity to meet so many fantastic women! I got really lucky that I started this blog and found some of my best friends on Instagram. Life is weird!
We pitched in for a party bus to go pumpkin picking at Butler’s Orchard, followed by wine tasting and farm-animal viewing at Rocklands Farm and Winery. Because we were all just pining for a really basic fall day. And it was perfect.
I love that off the shoulder tops and dresses are in style now because they are so flattering on everyone. It is truly rare that someone hates their shoulders, no matter what your age or body type. Any universally flattering trend is ay-okay in my book! I just ADORE the color red, all year long!
It has been a week since our vacation ended. Sad sad saddest face. I can already feel my tan fading by the minute. Sitting in the office at work, my tan is basically the only evidence that I even went on vacation, except for these fab photos, and my memories. Oh, and the sand that is still stuck in my ear buds. It makes me smile.
I’m still not done talking about Mexico. The view from our room was insane. I often opted to sit on our balcony in the 108 degree weather rather than sitting in the comfortable air conditioned room. Naturally, due to my love of the spot, we needed to try and cram a photo shoot onto our little balcony while the sun was setting.
We shoved the big old wicker chairs and table out of the way, and Dan nearly fell over the balcony trying to get the shot as I squeezed in the farthest corner. Who ever said blogging was glamorous?
