Are you going to be in Chicago this weekend?! The Bed Head Hotel is taking place at The Hard Rock Hotel (230 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60601) on Friday August 4th + Saturday 5th from 12 PM until 6 PM! There will be a Bed Head Style Bar, makeup & mani touch-ups, free open bar, free catered food, artist demos + a DJ booth, and swag! I’ll be there on Friday from 12-2!
The event takes place in conjunction with the Lollapalooza music festival. Dan and I went in 2014, and it was SUCH blast (see photos of us below!) But like you probably know, music festivals aren’t just about the music. They are kind of a fashion show! Festival-goers plan out their outfits months in advance and show up with impeccable hairstyles.
So Bed Head by TIGI sent me all these fun hair products to try before the event. I’m not going to Lollapalooza this year (I’ll be visiting family in Chicago instead) but I have such fond memories of the festival. I will be at the Bed Head Hotel event on Friday at 12! If you’re going to be in Chicago I’d love to see you there.
I’m super excited about these Bed Head products because whenever I shop at Ulta I’m always blown away by the fun and whimsical packaging. Even the names of the products are fun!
I split them into styling categories to make it easier for us, since there are so many here!
Totally Beachin After-Sun Shampoo and Conditioner. These products are designed for the summer party girl. The shampoo gets rid of sweat and dirt, and the conditioner replenishes moisture lost from being out in the sun and wind all day. They smell really tropical, like coconuts and fruit! I get a lot of buildup in my hair from using a lot of styling products and dry shampoo, and these did a good job of getting my locks squeaky clean.
Haute Iron Spray. Spray on before you blow dry or use any heat products. It made my hair really shiny and soft.
Queen Beach Salt Infused Texture Spray. Spritz on dry hair for some extra hold and texture or on wet hair before you air dry for effortlessly beachy waves. It smells really fruity and nice!
Headrush Shine Spray. This fine mist makes dry ends shiny and makes your hair color pop, especially if you have color treated hair!
Masterpiece Massive Shine Hairspray. This hairspray has a strong hold and does a good job of keeping your style in place. I like that it isn’t too crunchy, but you can still tell that it is doing something. The bottle is really cute, too.
Get Twisted Anti-Frizz Finishing Spray (not yet available in stores). With a slippery consistency, you can spray this directly on hair on on your hands first to tame flyaways or frizziness.
I call these products the heroes because they are my favorite products of the bunch! They are the ones that I am most likely taking on my trip to Chicago and products that I will be using the most.
Superstar Queen For A Day Thickening Spray. At first I thought this product was supposed to be sprayed on dry hair. It is actually a wet spray that goes on wet hair and creates SO much volume when you blow dry!
Oh Bee Hive! Matte Dry Shampoo. First of all, this smells kind of sweet like honey. I love it! It leaves a little bit of white residue in my dark hair, but that’s okay. Otherwise it is a really good dry shampoo!
Since I styled my hair with these products this morning, I’ve been getting a lot of compliments and I think my hair looks really good! I used every single one of them in one look, haha! If I had to recommend just one product it would probably be the Superstar thickening spray, because it is so unique and really does work to give you extra volume!
Thank you to Bed Head by TIGI and Her Campus Media for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
