A good piece of statement jewelry can make an outfit shine. I don’t really understand the dainty jewelry trend going on right now. I like dainty jewelry, but if you are going to purchase something over $5 it should be special. And if you’re going to wear jewelry at all, then WEAR IT!
Baublebar is one of my favorite jewelry brands. They are having a great sale right now on some of their most popular pieces, and these are my five favorites.
I have a necklace similar to the showgirl fringe (I wore it in this post) and I always receive compliments when I wear it. The beaded tassel earrings are so gorgeous! I would wear them with a black or gray dress, as I would want them to be the focal point of my outfit.
The mystic opal amulet truly lives up to its name. The iridescent stone on the center is perfect, because it morphs to match any color you choose to wear.
Finally, the tassel strands necklace (on sale for $28) is everything I want in a necklace. A little boho, and totally unique and festive. It comes in multiple colors, but I personally prefer the red and gold.
Go check out the sale for yourself!
Staccato Aztec Cardigan in gray, similar in green, this reversible print, and this one is fab; Blue Hunter boots; Madewell denim; Old tank, similar here and here; Longchamp Crossbody discontinued, but I like this one and this one
Sunday was rainy, but surprisingly warm. After the bitter cold of last weekend, it was so nice to have some more bearable temps! We decided to hop on the DC bike share to grab some delicious dirty chai lattes and yummy biscuits at one of our favorite spots, A Baked Joint, in the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood.
A dirty chai, for those who do not know, is a chai latte with a shot of espresso, for an extra kick! Maybe I will feature the recipe on the blog someday. These lattes are SO GOOD and seriously as big as your face. I love enjoying a good weekend latte with my love.
As for the outfit, I got this Staccato aztec print cardigan last year. It has a bohemian vibe I always gravitate towards. And I always receive compliments when I wear it. It is one of those pieces that you can put on over anything and look put together. I like tops and cardigans with prints because they don’t need much embellishing.
The cardigan is by Staccato. There are some similar versions on Zulily.com, including a striped version and some solid colors. Since Zulily is one of those auction sites where the items go away quickly, I also linked some other cardigans I like below.
I wore my hunter boots to keep my feet dry. While it wasn’t actively raining when we went out, I didn’t want to risk getting my feet wet! And of course a casual outfit would not be complete without my Madewell denim (so flattering! I wore this pair last in this post.) They are really comfortable and fit like a glove.
In other exciting news – I’m co-hosting a link up with my blogger friend Nicole on Thursday! Be sure to head back on Thursday to check it out.

So let me tell you about the glamorous affair that prompted this outfit. But seriously – I wish I had a better story. Dan and I headed to the Georgetown DMV this weekend so Dan could get his new license and register our car. Thrilling.
Blouse (sold out) similar swan pattern here and other patterns here and here, and I love this one; Midi Skirt; Express tights; Pink heels; Necklace is old, extremely similar here; Rebecca Minkoff bag similar fringe style here and here and similar color here
I picked up this bird blouse from H&M this fall and thought I might wear it twice. However, I suprised myself by wearing it every which way, with jeans for a casual day, with nice slacks to a holiday party, and out for date night.
