I haven’t been able to get any good outfit shots for awhile because a)snow storm and b)storm of snow. I’ve been wearing this soft and cozy swing tee from Old Navy around the house. Whenever I get a new piece that I really enjoy, I tend to wear it like every day all the time.
Who doesn’t love Trader Joe’s? Going in there is like being transported to every ethnic and specialty food market you’ve ever been to…but all at once. I can get unique and tasty food items that won’t break the bank.
Since I am avid and passionate Trader Joe’s shopper, I have strolled the aisles searching for the best. I love reading these types of posts because I like to discover new products. Thus, it is time to share MY favorites. Some of them might be news to you, and some are cult favorites. All the same, I hope this post helps you discover your new Trader Joe’s obsession!
Starting with oyster crackers, going clockwise…
Oyster Crackers – Dan would not let me get away with this post without featuring these. They are so tasty on their own, or great in soups.
Triple Ginger Snaps – This is one of those cult favorites. They don’t look all that fancy, but trust me. They have little chewy pieces of crystallized ginger in them. These cookies are addicting.
Gone Bananas! Chocolate Covered Banana Bites – You find these in the freezer section near the ice cream. They are the perfect little bite after dinner – if you don’t finish the whole box in one sitting, haha.
Blanc de Blanc Brut Sparkling Wine – As I mentioned in this post, this sparkling wine tastes expensive. And it only costs $6. I like to keep a bottle or two around for special occasions.
Organic Tuscan Kale – For some reason this kale tastes better to me than the regular curly type. I always have a bag of this on hand for a quick salad. It also tastes really good steamed with some lemon juice and pepper. Simple and healthy!
Wasabi Roasted Seaweed Snacks – Sometimes you just want a savory snack but the chips aren’t on the current “eating plan” if you will. These are crunchy and salty. You can get them with or without wasabi, and you can eat the entire package for just 60 calories. What.
Healthy Chopped Veggie Mix – I like crunchy vegetables. But buying them all and chopping them is a chore and a mess. I sprinkle these pre-chopped veggies on my salads all week and it makes me happy.
Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups – I firmly believe chocolate and peanut butter is a combination personally crafted by the flavor gods. I put the package in the freezer for a nice little treat once in awhile. (tip: try hiding these from your significant other because they will find them and they will eat them all.)
Broccoli and Kale Slaw – I discovered this salad mix when I was hosting a party and looking for a salad option that wouldn’t wilt as soon as it was dressed. It has little packets of sunflower seeds and dried blueberries that you can sprinkle on, and a package of pre-made dressing as well. I use maybe 1/3 of the package when I make it. The slaw and kale really does stay crunchy when dressed, even in the fridge overnight.
While these are my favorites right now, they can and probably will change. Even as I wrote this I lamented that I didn’t include the s’mores bites that my friend Grace recommended. Or the cookie and cocoa swirl butter….mmmm.
What are you favorite Trader Joe’s Products? Tell me your secrets!
As you may know, we went to Italy on our honeymoon this September. That is where I discovered one of my favorite cocktails – the Aperol Spritz. It is a little tangy, bubbly, and extremely refreshing. Aperol is a bright orange Italian aperetif. It is made with orange, rhubarb, gentiana (a blue flowering plant) and other herbs that Aperol claims are secrets.
Because we were hit with the blizzard of 2016, we were stuck inside all weekend. It is nice to spend a weekend lumping around in your pj’s. We watched plenty of Netflix, a bunch of movies, and I finished All the Light We Cannot See. It was fantastic.
But if you are like me, you did some online shopping (who didn’t!?) I love to hunt for dupes and deals when I have some free time. This weekend, I found some AMAZING bargains and I absolutely had to share. I may or may not have gotten a few of these things for myself, but at these prices, you simply cannot blame me.

Yahooo FRIDAY! This week felt really long. Maybe because of the cold. We are supposed to get hit with a big blizzard in DC around noon today. I hope that wherever you are, you are safe and warm! I heard that Trader Joe’s got slammed yesterday and the line at Whole Foods was ridiculous. It’s like the apocalypse is coming.
So my birthday is coming up next weekend. I’ve had pretty dresses on the brain. A lot of people have asked me about this Chi Chi London party dress that I wore to our rehearsal dinner this summer, so I thought I’d dedicate a post. After all, it is one of my absolute favorite pieces. Maybe you guys can help me pick a birthday dress.
At our rehearsal dinner
I bought this beautiful Chi Chi London dress on Asos.com for our rehearsal dinner. I love it because it is fun and different. The floral print is unique and I love the big blue flowers on the light pink.
Pre-rehearsal with my darling friends Ashley and Grace
The midi length is so flattering, and shows off whatever shoes you decide to pair with it. Sadly, this particular dress is sold out. But Chi Chi London never disappoints.
Ever since I bought this dress I have been looking for an excuse to get another. With my birthday coming up, I might just have a valid excuse. I love wearing beautiful dresses because they do not need much fussing with accessories. They are a piece of art in themselves.
Most of the Chi Chi London dresses are under $100, and Asos always has really great sales. Just be careful with the sizing. For reference, I am typically a US size 4, but I ordered a UK size 8. You can shop for Chi Chi London dresses on Asos, Dorothy Perkins, or ModCloth. They have petites and plus sizes, too, which is pretty amazing.
Although it was so difficult to narrow it down – here are my four birthday/life picks right now:
1. Midi Prom Dress. The dark blue is a gorgeous contrast to the pretty flower clusters on the dress. I also love the sleeves! It is so ladylike.
